He received his master degree at Waseda University and then worked for Nikken Sekkei from 1983 to 1998. During the period of Nikken Sekkei, Mr IKAGA created design guidelines and life cycle assessment tools to create sustainable buildings for national and local governments, and also developed environment management systems for design firms. He was in charge of teaching architectural building at the University of Tokyo as an associate professor from 1998 to 2000. After that Mr. IKAGA re-inaugurated in Nikken Sekkei as the chief engineer of environment organization department. He left there since 2006 and now working at Keio University as a professor of the school of science for open and environmental systems.
